Your heartfelt account brought tears to my eyes too. I know the feeling of loss....but it is not a loss. We only have to gain when we have had a special pet in our lives.
It was warm here last week and cooling again. It finally feels like fall! I had to close windows today as it got down to 64 here.
This is creepy! Why would someone even want to keep such a fish as a pet?!
It really saddens me how people can just get a pet and not think of the future of the pet.
Aww, what a little sweetie. She is just as beautiful now as she was a puppy.
It is great to read about others experiences and to learn what is tried and true. I am also a big fan of forums like this one!
Obedience training is always a good bet. Also, does the dog have enough toys to play/chew on? Sometimes they can do this out of boredom.
I just loved reading these stories. My dog is a huge digger as I mentioned earlier. It is funny to look around the yard and see these huge holes everywhere. Surprisingly enough, he has never tried to...
Do you remember Benji? That was a cute story. I have always love the movie The Incredible Journey. I had my kids watch this the other day and they loved it.
That is so cool Davey. She was probably happy to get the break..... :)
Yes, Orrymain, I think we can always learn from the animals.
I think it is ok in moderation. Esp. the bigger bones. Good exercise for teeth and jaw.
We have always picked out our pets from the local shelters. They seem to be the best pets, IMO.
Currently, my dog is loving the Trader Joes doggie treats. They have quite the variety to pick from. My son love to pick out different ones every time we go shopping.
Over 6' fences? That is very impressive!
We do not have a beagle. We are looking into one as a companion to our older dog. Our older dog, at 16, is as much a digger as the day we found him. He loves...
It is very traumatic when that happens. I remember the first time I ran over a squirrel. I cried the whole way home. Then several years later, I hit a dog too. He was in the street and it was very...
The soda can with the pebbles does work really well. I am also curious, is he neutered? If not, perhaps the aggressive behavior would lessen if he was.
I did not know that about dogs noses! Great trivia there....I need to remember that one. Thanks for sharing.
aww cute. My little girl loved this picture when I showed it to her earlier. Very pretty....
Do they have a yard to run around in? Maybe get them some outdoor toys and let them get some exercise this way. Look at their diet also, they need to have a good quality food.
Amazing the understanding they can develop very quickly. My dog still barks at the neighbors cats. My cat loves it because he does not have to worry about stray cats coming into "his" yard.
That is very sad.....stealing another dogs puppies. I guess if your dog has a false pregnancy one really needs to keep an eye on them and work on nurturing them.
Great info on the pet insurance. I have not had much experience with it myself. Although there have been times when it would of been a great thing to have.
Welcome! This is a great forum to share ideas and just have fun. I am sure you have quite a bit of great beagle stories to share. :)
So cute when they have little buddies. I love the names, Lucy Belle and Stella Blue. Welcome....lots of good info here!
Welcome Sara. I am fairly new here also. I have really enjoyed the conversations here, hopefully you will too.
