Safe Guard for heading off possible group tapeworm infestation

I am fostering a stray that turned out to have tapeworms. At first I was quarantining him but got lazy before learning of the tapeworm and he's been in common areas shedding tons of eggs, no doubt. If I understand correctly I have to administer Fenbendazole for three days to a known infested dog? Will a monthly or bimonthly administration to my exposed dogs head off their contracting them, or more often? Is there a yard treatment I can apply that would destroy the proglottids or eggs?

The safe guard will only kill one kind of tape worm and it is not the most common one.

I would isolate the dog with the tapeworms. My guess is you saw the (rice) tapeworm segments in this dogs stool , if yes , dog has the tapeworm. If you only see this in one dog just treat that dog and treat all dogs for fleas right away. Your choice.

The tapeworm comes from biting and ingesting an infected flea. The ingredient in the medication that kills the tapeworm is Praziquantel. So , what you need to buy is a product that contains Praziquantel , and dose for correct weight.
