Hello everyone, my almost 2 yr old Beagle Suzi has an eye discharge, only one eye....
She also sheds like there is not tomorrow... Its this "normal" in Beagles? Thanks for any advise or commets you may have.
Eye discharge can be many things , some minor and some very serious. Some bacterial or virus infections are very serious and require a Vet.
Can you describe the eye problem in a little more detail , ie: color of eye , color of discharge. Duration of problem.
Has dog had all shots?
How long has your dog had the eye problem?
Does your dog live inside?
Take a close look at your dogs skin. Are there any red or flaky areas? Is the skin oily or have odor? Are there any balding/hair loss spots?
Is your dog on HW and Flea prevention meds? If yes , what meds?
You should watch out for any infections. Excessive eye discharges are not normal and should be watch out for.
