A puppy should be introduced to tooth brushing as early as possible. Brushing prevent undesirable odors emanating from our dog's mouth.

Aside from tooth decay and cavities, what are the possible causes of bad mouth odors?

Easier said than done....just the sight of the toothbrush and toothpaste will make our dogs go on disappearing acts.

It's been said though that giving dry kibbles is better than moistened or wet food because the latter can get stuck in the gums and may become a good breeding ground for bacteria leading to bad odors emanating from the mouth.

I've read that foul-odor from the mouth can be telltale signs of much more serious problems affecting the stomach and other parts of the gastro-intestinal tract.

Thus regular dental checkups and good dental hygiene are very important to ensure that our dogs are free from any life-threatening diseases.
