    Ivomec for fleas and tics

I suggested Ivermection for flea control . My daughter has been told this will not prevent flea infestation. I have used it for many years. Have I just been lucky? She lives in a woods and wants to be careful as she has 3 dogs

I have only heard of it used for internal parasites like Heartworm. Maybe you are just lucky and don't have fleas in your area. I have never had flea issues either, only an occasional tick.

We've used Ivermectin for several years instead of topical flea and tick applications. I was skepitcal at first but it works not only for heartworm but also for both fleas and ticks.

Such remedies as Ivermectin should be used only if prescribed by a vet. In other cases, it's better to use natural flea repellents. We use hypoallergenic shampoo to repel fleas and it's just enough. Chemical flea treatment can cause some difficulties and side effects so use it only in case of strong flea infestation. I've found an interesting source where all the means of fighting with fleas are described (side effects are mentioned there too).
