Post Beagles Rescued from a Cosmetics Factory

I just read about 120 Beagles rescued from an abandoned cosmetics lab in New Jersey
These dogs were used as "lab rats" and when the cosmetics company had to file for bankruptcy these poor dogs were locked inside the warehouse. However, these dogs were lucky enough to get rescued and now they're looking for homes to take in these poor dogs.

    thanks for the post Missy!

That is really an inhumane way to treat those poor dogs. Is it still legal to use dogs as "lab rats"? I think the humane society and PAWS should look into this case. I would have love to adopt one of these Beagles but my dodi and mai are keeping my hands full. I hope those poor dogs will end up in good homes.

That's irresponsibility in the first degree. The ones responsible should be put behind bars!

However, I think it's still legal but there are certain provisions or guidelines that has to strictly adhered to.

There have been many reports that most rescued Beagles (or any other breed of dog) particularly those from labs have certain behavior problems. I guess it's their experiences in there that made them developed such idiosyncrasies.

Stories like this make us realize that animal testing goes on more that we are even aware of. The thought of it just makes me sick! I am hoping they will be placed in homes quickly.

This story absolutely brought tears to my eyes. What a terrible way to treat beagles, or any animals for that matter. They should be punished somehow.

Just my opinion, but the one that did this to the pups should in turn be the ones used for testing. I know it isn't very humane....but hey did they stop and think about the puppies?!

I just hate it that animals are abused like this. What makes humans think they have a right to test things on animals just so they can wear lipstick or something? It makes me livid.

Animal testing is beyond what I perceive as a reasonable means to test safety of products. If the products are for people, then test them on people.
