Rev. Lamar Denby and UKC HBCH Sanders Creek Johnny Reb, the 1995 Texas State Champion.

Rev. Lamar Denby is 48 years old, a Baptist pastor of nearly 30 years, and is presently the pastor of Highway Baptist Church in Huntington, Texas; where he has served since 1984.

He and his wife Roxanne have three children and two grandchildren.

He has a MA Degree in Theology and is an accomplished free-lance writer with articles appearing in many Christian magazines and Newspapers around the country. He has authored several Homiletic Books for pastors and evangelists, and is currently writing a book about Beagles and Hunting called "The Sabine River Bottom."

Rev. Denby's second love (next to God and family) is Beagles. Lamar has been a Beagler since 1966 when a neighbor gave a young boy his first Beagle hound. The excitement of hunting Rabbits with Beagles is as fresh with him today as it was nearly 35 years ago.

He owns and operates Sanders Creek Beagles and enjoys hunting his hounds for pleasure and in Field Trials. He is co-founder of the Deep East Texas Beagle Club of Huntington, Texas, and is credited for bringing the UKC Beagle Hunting program to Texas in 1993.

Rev. Denby is honored and humbled to become a contributing staff writer for the BEAGLES UNLIMITED magazine. While he claims no authority on breeding and hunting Beagles, you will find his articles to be practical, enlightening, and interesting.
