My pup will rabbits not gun shy he is a good all around dog have wonderful blood he is the son of scratch ankle Jeremiah. The only thing is is he won't hunt very far from me. Or if he looks around and can't find me the fucker will bark on my scent to find me. But when running rabbits he doent care where I'm at how do I break him from this or is it ok.

I think your pup will mature out of this if you continue pack hunting. As chasing Mr.Rabbit becomes more and more fun the drive and focus will increase. IMO...

My joe done this at first but packing with dogs built his confidence he is better now . But when hunting solo he still hunts closer than I like but I hope when he matures he will be better but have patience my friend and good hunting

I don't mind a dog that "checks in" once in a while--I could do without the barking. It sounds like a confidence issue. Give him time. Prey drive will solve the problem.
