2 yr Old in snow

I have a 2 year old male took him out in the snow at the end of febuary in New York he didnt put his nose down at all, is that normal? he didnt leave my side and didnt want to work, any thoughts? temps were about 30/sunny

Did you cut any fresh tracks?

Im not sure, I saw tracks but they might have been from the night before?..how can i tell how fresh the track is?

A 2 year old beagle really should have his nose to the ground . Maybe try jumping a rabbit yourself and see what he does on a known hot track.

He may be too hot nosed to be able to track in the snow, but normally they do at least try. I have had some hot nosed hounds that really don't even bother unless the temps are up a bit higher if there is snow on the ground.
