Whether I like it or not (and whether I know how to do it or not) both my beagles need to have their anal glands expressed regularly, The vet already show me a couple of times how to do it but I still can't seem to get the hung of it. I hate having to go to the vet (it stresses my babies--the trip; and it stresses me--the bill)

Is there any other simple way to do it?

the first few times are always the most "complex"....but once you've done it successfully it just like another routine "job" =)

you can also get the groomer to do it for you. much cheaper that way.

Agreed on having the groomer do it. It is not too bad once you get the hang of it. If you do not feel comfortable doing it, then it is worth paying the groomer.

Why don't you let the groomer do it several times until you are at ease doing it. most groomers will let you do it yourself while they supervise although there are those who won't because they might lose a customer once you can do it on your own
