Hi guys 👋 I’m new to the forum and looking for anyone’s advice or stories.
Our 9 year old male beagle has been lethargic and generally quiet over probably the last two months. We originally put it down to getting older but in the last week his abdomen has visibly swelled and is tight like a drum. He has been to the vets, bloods show low albumin and low protein and they also did an ultrasound which showed fluid. They took a sample of the fluid which also showed protein. His urine dip is normal. The vet has referred us to a specialist centre for a ct scan which is going to cost anywhere between 2-5. Thousand pounds. I was wondering if any of you had any similar experiences and if so what the underlying cause was?
