Beau was my first beagle, and what a great, loving, funny dog he was.
He was 14 1/2 years old when he passed away April 9, 2012.
At the time of his death I swore I would never get another pet. His passing was so hard, I don't think I could ever go thru that again.
He brought so much joy into our lives. I miss him so much. I still cry when I think of him.
I will get another pet. I am getting another beagle this coming Sunday, but no other dog will be able to take his place in my heart. Dog Dog breed Carnivore Companion dog Fawn

I am so very sorry for your loss :(

I don't think of it as one dog replacing another in your heart. I think that each of our pets have their own special place in our hearts, there is always plenty of room for love. Beagles all have such different personailities, so I bet you will love your new beagle for his character. Its okay to cry, I still cry sometimes when I think about my Andy - he passed about a year and a half ago.
