My 7 yo Beagle Gracie loves to lay in the grass in the sun while I'm in the pool (we live in FL). I've only had her for a year and this is new behavior for her...she did not want to be outside when it was really hot last summer. Anyway, can she get sunburned laying in the sun?

Their nose and paw pads are most prone to sunburn, there is special sunscreen for dog nose actually like this one ( petstreetmall.com/Pet-Sunscreen/2789/4720/details.html )

Summer sunlight other than very early in the morning and late in the afternoon could be too hot and exhausting for dogs. They usually love cool spots to lay down, our beagle George have his own cooling bed as well as frozen kong treats to chill out.
