June 30, 2011, My son sent Monroe to me via Delta Airlines. He was leaving the country for several months and didn't want to leave him in a kennel. It has taken time and patience to understand him;yet I'm still having major problems with him, Will he ever settle in and become my pet or am I wasting my time? He's 6 years old and it seems like I'm figting a losing battle. My son is back, but I really want to keep Monroe he is so lovable. Am I doing the right thing or should I send him back to my son?

Absolutely…….wear a tshirt that you will give to the beagle…….get all sweaty and nasty in it…..let it dry out but don't wash or clean it at all….Then put shirt into kennell with beagle……the dog will then become yours…….overnight …….and will understand you better.

That's a judgement call that you and your son will have to work out. I hope you let him live with the person he is most happy with.
