Hello,

We currently have a Beagle named Cooper. He is 2 years old and neutered. We've been thinking about getting a Beagle puppy. Would you recommend a male or female puppy, or does it matter?

Cooper is so cute! It probably won't matter if you get a male or female. I find that my female beagles fight more than when I had male dogs, or male/female. You might be able to find a young beagle at a shelter that needs a home!

Except for the last six months where I lost a Beagle to cancer, I've generally had a pair of neutered females. I 've fould the fixed girls get along generally quite well and are less prone to wander -itis than Maales. ( Nevertheless, I do have a secure wooden fence in the back yard play area the dogs are not chained up in that area. )
