Our beagle Jake is a wonderful dog. He is friendly, a great hunter and a wonderful companion.

I just need opinions on his possessiveness. I have had beagles my whole life but I've never had a dog that is possessive like this so I am unsure. When Jake is given toys or food(or hides these things) he gets very possessive over this, to the point where he will growl at anything that goes around it. This has recently started when other dogs or people go near his bed as well. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to address it?

I have been having some fighting going on between our newest beagle Oliver and my little old lady Molly. I feed them separately which is a pain but it helps avoid fights. I take toys away from him if he gets possessive or if he keeps taking them from Molly.
