Heat Cycle?

I'm fairly new to beagling. I have an 11 month old bitch that went into heat last week.
When is it safe to get her back into the woods?

It's been so long that I've forgotten. My first beagle is when I had to deal with that, and that was, oh my, decades back. All the dogs since then have been spayed or neutered, which is now highly recommended.

I'd definitely play it safe. I know I already responded but we need to be responsible pet owners.
