My husband and I have adopted a 4 year beagle we've named Augie Doggie. When he showed up at our rural home he had lots of bald spots. From calls to neighbors and visits to the local vet, we learned he was a stray. He's a wonderful purebred beagle. Housebroken, not aggressive with other dogs, and good with our cats. I've taught him come, off, leave it, and sit but he "forgets" sometimes. In fact, some days, I think he's forgotten everything. Then the next day he is perfect. I had started on down but that and stay aren't working. I'm also having some trouble with leash training. Once again, some days he is wonderful. He is a good dog. Really, he is. He just forgets. Oh. His coat is beautiful now, but he is allergic to grass and is being treated for heart worms. Thanks for any advice you can give.
