Help a Beagle and his Owner have an Effective Exercise Regimen

Any suggestions for activities that can satisfy a dog and his owner's need to get out of our sedentary lifestyle will be taken into consideration.

We've done walking and running and sometimes it's just so boring.

Anybody done the doggie treadmill? Also thinking of putting up agility courses to start training him.

More suggestions please...Thanks

Hey Davey, Perhaps your walks have become boring and monotonous. Why don't you teach your dog to fetch? Even dogs crave for variety.

Or you can form a play group with your neighbors where a certain person will play host. Neighbors come with their dogs and let their pets play with each other. This is also a good way to socialize with your neighbors.

I think walking is still the best workout for you and your dog. You can put him on a long leash and let him roam around while you hold on to the end of the leash. When the weather's tough, you can play inside.

When I don't feel like taking a walk, we just go outside and play fetch for 30 to 45 minutes. The play will usually worn us both out.

Is there a dog park nearby? We have one in our town and it is a great way to get out doors and have some fun.

That's exactly what I was going to ask -- dog parks. They are growing in popularity, and there's lots of potential there.

I was truly surprised when they added one in our small town. It has become very popular here. It is a great way to get out and get some exercise.

yeah I love dog parks. I get to meet my friends too. It's an excellent way to socialize and keep up with each other's lives while our dogs play together.

my hanna and I loves our regular visits to the dog park...the fields at the back of our house also holds lots of surprises that she loves to explore.

Do you have a bike? We take our beagle biking on off road trails, we actually even let him off leash and he follows us as we ride its great and it tires them out much more then just a regular walk. Even if you had roller blades too that would work!
