New Beagle

Hello there,

Me and my husband are moving this summer to our new house and we are planning on getting a beagle. He will obviously be a puppy.
We would love to know the most important things about beagles and 2 main things:
- will our female 3 year old cat be a problem?
- are beagles the chewing kind that will ruin everything in their way?

Although we'll buy him a house to put in the garden, I would like him to sleep inside. Will it be too dangerous for my brand new furniture?

Thank you :)

Beagles are very lovable and social. Although sometimes they may display their hunting instincts, they are generally good with children and cats. As for your furniture, it's hard to tell. I guess it depends on an individual dog.
I fully agree with you. If your puppies are well-entertained there shouldn't be worries about damages to your items.
As long as the puppy is kept entertained, is trained and is supervised you shouldn't have issues with anything being ruined. Beagles are curious and love to be with the family. My dogs are inside all the time unless I am outside with them, too much trouble 3 can get into without me!! For puppy owners I always suggest a basic manners puppy class.
