Question on squirrel hunting?

we have been training our beagle to squirrel hunt and shes doing really good about stayin on the tree. But no when she sees one she slows down and sneaks up on them until they run and then chases them. Any ideas on this behavior? its actually really cool she looks like a little lion :)
